What do you do here at the Corn Exchange?

I run Little Leeds Beerhouse

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am always making something or other, I can’t bring in my sewing machine…but you will often see me with a ball of yarn behind the counter at work!

What is your history with the building?

I had never been in the Corn Exchange until we started look for a business premises. Where I grew up the Corn Exchange was a performance venue so it was a real shock to enter the building and see all the independent shops! I just fell in love with the roof, it’s spectacular.

What is your favourite thing about working at the Corn Exchange?

Being in the centre of a city and feeling in an oasis. I think our customers feel that too; it’s a very calming space.

Tell us about your best day out in Leeds. Where do you go? What do you do?

I’d start the day with a walk down the canal into Leeds centre, which would earn us coffee and brunch at Laynes Espresso. Then a wander around Leeds Art Gallery and intense perusal of the Craft Centre and Design Gallery. Lunch would have to be at The Reliance and if we were really indulging then the evening would be spent at Northern Ballet performance, finishing off with a few halves at White Locks or Bundobust.
