Tenant Profile: Laura Costello, Ragdoll Nails
Whats your name and what do you do here at the Corn Exchange?
My name is Laura Costello, and I own and work as a Nail Technician at Ragdoll Nails.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I confess I’m a bit of a workaholic, so you’ll always find me in the shop - except for Sunday; this is strictly the day of rest. I love food and cooking (although I don't often have time for it), red wine in Winter and gin all year round. I like little trips away on the weekend to refresh in new surroundings, but I’m also a fan of a free weekend at home, cosy in the house reading the GoodFood magazine.
What is your history with the building?
I use to come in with my friends on the weekends, back when it had the red doors. We use to run through the crowds that sat on the steps outside to go to the shops in the basement arches that sold reconstructed customised clothes.
What is your favourite thing about working at the Corn Exchange?
It’s like a little community. I’ve found some really good friends in other tenants here, past and present, which is lovely.
Tell us about your best day out in Leeds. Where do you go? What do you do?
Favourite day out - probably Sundays, relaxing in the house in the morning then go to Roundhay Park. Grab a coffee and a walk around the lake, off for some food in a cute pub afterwards, then home for a film and sofa napping.
